Two minutes with a tape measure saves a fortnight of posting things back. Every listing gives its sizes in centimetres, and those numbers beat any chart on this page.
Weight is the quick way in, but the honest measure is your pet stretched out. Wait until they are asleep on their side, measure nose to the base of the tail, and add a little for stretching room. Curled up sleepers can go smaller. Animals that sleep flat out on their side need the bigger option.
Every bed and sofa listing gives its sizes in centimetres. Compare your measurement with the space your pet will actually lie in, not the outside edge, and trust the listing over the chart below.
A bolster or raised edge takes some length out of the space inside, so allow for it when a bed has one. Older animals and anything with stiff hips do better on a flat, low bed they can walk straight onto. If you are between sizes, go up.
Mugs give their capacity in millilitres on the listing. Compare it with a mug you already own and like the size of, rather than guessing from the photo; a photograph makes every mug look the same size.
Personalised boxes are made with the name or words you type into the box on the product page before you add it to the basket. The listing says how many characters fit. Check the spelling before you pay: a box with a name on is made for you, so it cannot be returned unless it is faulty.
Sizes are given in centimetres on every listing. Measure the shelf, sill or table it is going on before you order, including the space above it for a lamp shade. A photograph on its own says nothing about scale, so the number is the thing to trust.
