Cookies

Three cookies, all of them doing work you asked for. No analytics, no advertising, and so no banner to click away.

Last updated 15 August 2026

This is a draft. It was written to give the site something honest to show, not by a lawyer. A solicitor needs to read and amend it before amalyashop takes a real order.

Why there is no cookie banner

The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations require consent for cookies except where they are strictly necessary to provide a service you have asked for. All three of ours are that: they exist so a basket can survive you clicking on a second product. Since we run no analytics and no advertising, there is nothing to ask you about.

If that changes, a banner appears before the first non-essential cookie is set, and it will let you say no as easily as yes.

The cookies we set

Cookies set by amalyashop, with purpose, duration and type
NameWhat it doesLastsType
amalia_cartHolds what is in your basket, as product and variant references with quantities. Without it the basket empties the moment you open a second page.30 daysStrictly necessary
amalia_discountRemembers a discount code you have applied so the total stays correct while you carry on shopping.30 daysStrictly necessary
amalia_shippingRemembers whether you chose standard or express delivery, so checkout opens on the one you picked.30 daysStrictly necessary

All three are first-party, set by this site only. They are marked http-only so scripts running in the page cannot read them, they are sent over HTTPS on the live site, and they are never sent to another domain. None of them contains your name, your email address or anything that identifies you. The basket cookie holds product references and numbers, nothing more.

What we do not set

  • No analytics cookies. We have no idea which pages you personally visited.
  • No advertising or retargeting pixels. Nothing follows you to another website.
  • No social media embeds, and so none of the cookies that come with them.
  • No cross-site tracking of any kind, by us or by anyone we work with.

Other storage

A session cookie may be set by our hosting to keep a request tied to the right server, and it disappears when you close the browser. When you check out, our payment provider may set its own cookies to prevent fraud, under its own privacy terms.

Turning them off

Every browser lets you block or delete cookies, usually under privacy settings. You are welcome to. Blocking ours means the basket empties between pages and checkout will not complete, so the site becomes a catalogue rather than a shop.

More on your data

The privacy notice covers what we hold once you actually order something, how long it stays, and how to ask for a copy or have it deleted.
